Transfer Chances

Hi, I was wondering what my chances are of getting into UNC transfer. I am out of state (South Dakota).

College: Currently in my second semester at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. First semester had a 4.0 gpa. Only one EC-designing for the daily school newspaper.

High school-
GPA- 3.9(uw) 4.1(w)
ACT- 35
SAT- 1410
APs- Calc AB-5, Geography-5, US Gov-5, World History-4, US History-4, English Comp-4
ECs- Varsity basketball, sports editor of newspaper, national honor society, fellowship of christian athletes
honors- national merit finalist, some various awards for basketball and newspaper

I did get in to UNC freshman EA, but decided not to go for various reasons. Will this affect whether I will get in now? thanks for any help.

I think you'll get in.

And for the record, out of state for transfers does not affect admissions..but you're pretty much a lock

thepablo21, have you heard anything yet? have you also checked to see if you have a pid?

whats a PID? and yeah, i am so anxious waiting for these decisions

No, I haven't heard anything yet. Also, how would I check to see if I have a PID??

go to unc and search for PID, then it will ask you for your SS# and birthday

Yes, I do have a PID. Does this mean anything? Also, where are you transfers thinking about living. I am considering the transfer floor at Granville, but am not sure.

i dont know what it means

i don't think the PID matters at all.

Has anyone checked when their app was last updated? mine was the 30th

mine was last updated the 27th of march...and if anyone is wondering whom is issued a PID...i know for sure that each applicant is assigned one, regardless of acceptance or rejection

mine was last updated 3/14. i guess i'll hear back earlier than you guys :]

My profile was last updated March 16th.

jlvision...where in jersey are you from?

i'm originally from chatham nj

chatham? i have no idea where that is.. haha
i'm from cherry hill. it's in south jersey right near philly.

I transferred to UNC last fall from a small private school in Wisconsin (and I LOVE it here) I chose to live in Granville after being placed in Odum because of lack of housing. I didn't get on the transfer floor because I decided too late, but I would definitely recommend living here. I was lucky enough to be placed with another transfer student (from in state) and she helped me meet a lot of people she knew from high school.
Some of my other friends who are transfers lived in Odum and they actually like it because they have a fairly large space and a kitchen and such. I was just worried that it would be so far from everything.
But Granville is so close to everything and it's a nice place. The only thing that my roommate and I have noticed is that it's somewhat hard to meet other people in Granville, probably because most of our hallmates are freshmen. Otherwise I've really like it. I will be moving off campus next year, and I will really miss the convenience of living so close to everything..
(btw- transferring here was the best decision I've made)

I'm also waiting to hear...I'm a frosh out at Notre Dame, out of state for NC....still have not heard, had that pin thing, but it appears as though that has nothing to do with being accepted.
