Transfer Chances

Hi all, I am looking to transfer to Binghamton for the spring semester as a transfer student. My current Major is Political Science (plan on continuing it at Bing) In the fall I will be a sophomore, so far I have 31 credits and my current cumulative GPA is 3.63. My GPA for last fall was 3.534 and for spring semester it was 3.734

So what do you think my chances are of being accepted?? Thanks all who reply!!

There’s usually a lot of transfer applicants and not too many get in but I don’t see any reason for you not to be accepted. I transferred in last fall with a GPA of 3.5.

Good luck!

Thank you!!, Glad to hear that you got in, Congratulations! Hope the same goes for myself, We can only wait and see I suppose.

So to give an update, With the above stats, I was accepted in University At Buffalo and Stony Brook, while Binghamton still being my first choice, any indication that I will get into Bing, given that i have been accepted at UB and Stony Brook??

Unfortunately, UBuff and SBU aren’t really good indicators. UBuff is the largest SUNY which means it will most likely take the largest number of transfers. SBU has lower standards than Bing. I think you have a shot, so don’t lose hope.

I’d say you have a really good shot at getting in. Which school did you apply to at Binghamton?

ah Hopefully I will get in, It’s a wait-and-see thing at the moment. I applied to Harpur

It says the average transfer GPA is 3.4. Good luck. Which school are you currently at?

Thank you!, It is great to know I am above average in that regard, I currently attend a small catholic college in New York City, very small about 2,000 students, I’m extremely unhappy here and Binghamton seems very appealing.

So Just a quick update; I was accepted to Binghamton a few days ago! But I’ve decided to go University at Buffalo. Thanks everyone for their input, you all have been much help in the process.
