I'm a high school senior and I have taken a lot of college courses last year and this year. I possibly will go to Gatech next year, so I'm concerning whether I could transfer some credits to Gatech so that I can waive prerequisites. The courses I've taken are

Math:
(5 on Calculus BC, used Tom Apostol's Calculus)
Calculus III
Calculus IV
Differential Equation
Linear Algebra
Mathematical Computing
Partial Differential Equations
Advanced Calculus
Number Theory
Discrete Mathematics
Modern College Geometry
Introduction to Group Theory and Applications
Elementary Differential Geometry

Science:
(5s on both Physics C)
General Physics (Modern Physics)

Engineering:
Electrical Circuits I.II.III
Electromagnetics I.II

I have As on all. I'm wondering how many courses would be accepted by Gatech (I've asked UIUC and UMich and their counselors said that they'll accept most).

At what college did you take the classes and what were the course numbers?

I took them in Portland State University (I’m not in-state). Also I took
Computer Science:
Introduction to Computer Science I.II (I’m not able to take AP since the school teaches C++ instead of Java…)
Data Structure
Discrete Structure I.II
Programming Systems
Micro Computer Hardware

Course Number:

Computer Science:
CS 161.162
CS 163

Engineering:
ECE 221.222.223
ECE 331.332

To transfer classes to GT, you have to submit a syllabus, which is reviewed to see what (if any) GT course it matches. GT maintains a list of already approved courses, already rejected courses, and courses that need department approval (usually they don’t have all components of the GT course so your department has to determine if the missing components are critical to your major). If there’s no evaluation, you’ll have to contact GT to get them to evaluate the course. I would try to do that soon so you can have a decision before the deadline to accept the admission offer.

CS 161.162 - No evaluation (no one has attempted to transfer this course)

Math:
MTH 254 - if you also have MTH 253, you need both: Math 2401 (Calc III)
MTH 256 - Department evaluation required for approval
MTH 261 - No evaluation (no one has attempted to transfer this course)
MTH 271 - No evaluation (no one has attempted to transfer this course)

But looking at that list, are you sure your a freshman applicant? If you have that much credit (almost an entire degree), you might be considered a transfer.

This. If you didn’t take these classes as some sort of dual enrollment program through your high school you are may be counted as a transfer student. That’s not really bad news for you, your chances of getting in will probably be better even though it sounds like you’re pretty high speed and that probably wouldn’t be an issue either way. There are minimum course requirements and depending on your major you might not have all of them done. Looks like you’re setting up to be a CS major and if that is the case you should be good as long as you’ve got English I & II done. If you didn’t finish these course requirements and they won’t let you app as a freshman (they can be strict on this), you might have to wait until you finish the English requirement up. The course requirements are listed here: <a href=“Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission”>Blow the Whistle! (404 error: page not found) | Undergraduate Admission;

Even though your courses aren’t listed as having transferred in the past, I would say it is likely that the courses like physics, calc 1-3, and diffeq will transfer. The engineering and computer science classes are going to be harder to determine and the only way to find out is to actually have them evaluated. My prediction (as someone who’s really probably disturbingly familiar with the transfer process) is that they will take some of the engineering and cs classes but not all of them. If you look at schools from all over the country that Tech has taken credits from, almost every regionally accredited school has their core science, english, and math classes transfer. If you look up schools that are similar to yours (another state university), check to see if courses of the same title have transferred. This definitely isn’t going to be a for sure thing but it will give you a good idea, and the best you will ever get is a good idea until you have them officially evaluated by Tech.

I’m doing dual enrollment.

I’m sure I’m a freshman applicant. I took so many Sophomore and Junior level classes since I finished all AP Science and Math (except for AP Bio… since I really dislike biology) in Sophomore.

Actually… I needn’t get credits for all of the classes (taking less class isn’t my intention). I just want to see if I can waive prerequisite of some higher level classes (get overrides), such as the classes that only people in specific department will take (for example, not general classes).
