Transfer Credits

Hi, everyone! I was recently accepted to the Tufts School of Arts & Sciences. I didn't really enjoy my freshman year at a local college, so I decided to transfer. My grades were all pretty good, with mostly A's, two A-'s, and one B+.

What I'm concerned about right now is fulfilling all of the requirements for my major, which is international relations. I was looking at concentrations earlier, but then realized how many things I need to get out of the way. I already feel like I'm behind, and Tufts doesn't allow you to know what transfer credits you'll receive until you arrive at the beginning of the semester. I'm still set on attending, but I'm wondering if anyone (particularly one of the college representatives) could answer my questions.

Is it particularly difficult to receive credit for transfer classes? Will I be held back as a freshman if not all of my credits transfer over? (A lot of classes I took were required freshman courses, such as two writing classes and a special related course on peace and social justice. I did take a few courses that were more like electives out of intellectual curiosity, though, such as world literature, cyberactivism, and dance.)

Does the college accept CLEP credits? There's a non-affiliated website that says Tufts does, but the actual Tufts website is seemingly unclear on the issue. I would like to be able to catch up in any way I can, without creating a disaster in my wallet.

During my senior year of high school, I took an economics course through which I was awarded credit for ECON101 at a local community college. Would I likely be able to count that as my Principles of Economics credit in the IR core requirements?

I'm elated about my decision to attend Tufts, but I'm also worried about being behind on my major. I'm seriously considering joining the Tufts in London program during my junior year, and now I don't even know if that'll be possible. You don't have to be a college rep to respond to this, by the way; I'm just looking for anyone who's been in a similar situation or who has expertise in the matter.

Thanks in advance,
