Transfer Credits?

Hi! I am an argentine student admitted to MIT class of 2008, though I deferred enrollment for an yeardue to personal reasons. However, the dean of admissions allowed me to take some courses at a local university so as not to "lose the rythm".
I attended Buenos Aires Institute of Technology and took these subjects:

Math I, Math II, Math III
Physics I and Physics II
Chemistry I
Programming I
Introduction to Computer Science
General Knowledge I
Technic Drawing
Learning Methodology
Algorithms and Data Structures
Discrete Math
Linear Algebra

What do you think? Could they accept them for transfer credit? How much credit?

Plus there is something I dont get since Argentine system is way different...
if I could get sophomore standing.. does that mean I could do my major in 3 and not 4 years? The thing is I dont want to leave my country for so long.. what could I do to have the most credit as possible?

I'd really appreciate yor help!!

As of the time I posted this message, you've had 39 views and 0 replies. I'm pretty sure the reason is that not many of us here have a clue how to help you. I'd say talk to the dean of admissions again. I doubt anyone other than an MIT authority could give you a definitive statement. :)

Thanz anyway hikkifan! Guess I'll have to wait for their reply...

Hm...I'm a bit confused. So you were accepted and deferred enrollment...Does this mean you will be enrolling this year as a freshman or a sophomore? Or is that what you're trying to figure out? I'm applying to transfer from Haverford College, so I am unsure as to whether you are one of the few and lucky transfers...

Actually I was accepted as a freshman and I requested a special authorization from the dean to attend some college classes in my country. I explained I wanted to stay because it was a hard year for my family since my dad was moving to spain, but I didn´t want to just stop studying for a year and a half (In argentina we have an opposite academic calendar). The problem is now I am not sure whether she authorized me to take classes just to learn but willnot consider them for my credit, or she will actually consider all I have done this year (I fear she might say it was for "fun" and those classes don´t matter because I was admitted before taking them...)
