Transfer decision to UChicago?

Hi guys, I am opening this discussion thread for those of us who sent out transfer application to UChicago and are anxiously waiting for the admissions decision. Until May 7th, the transfer admissions decision, let’s share and talk about our high school, and college performance, GPA, extracurricular activities, transfer admission essays, SAT/ACT scores and various other things.
So, let’s start with me.
high school & middle school GPA: 4.0
current college GPA: 4.0
SAT: Math 600, Writing 600, Reading 480 (which is really bad :(….)
Why UChicago essay: I wrote my essay on the day of transfer application was due, March 1st. I know it sounds so crazy, but I was so busy before and did not have time to write the essays for UChicago supplement. So, starting from the morning, I was like a maniac with my computer, writing down whatever came into my mind in order to brainstorm, and finally, after waiting and waiting for a novel idea of saying why UChicago, I found this novel idea/ a way of expressing myself. I wrote from the bottom of my heart. I wrote down why I chose UChicago as best as I could because it is my dream school. Now, it is UChicago’s turn to choose. Fortunately, I was able to finish my essays on time.
extracurricular activities: Student Government Association, a member of my college’s honors society, a member of PTK.
major: Global Studies; minor: economics
future career: lawyer
passion: singing, dancing, speaking Russian and Spanish. reading fiction books, watching documentary films.

I am really anxious about my admissions decision like many of you out there who are waiting for UChicago’s decision. By the way, I also did an interview with an alumni. On my interview day, i was so anxious about what questions I might be asked. The person who interviewed me was a fourth year graduate student. He was so self confident and seemed knowledgeable and well mannered. The first question he asked me was: “So, tell me a little bit about yourself?” I was not prepared for this, so I was going to ask if he could be more specific like if he wanna know about my academics, my interests or my family life. It is super vague question; however, I tried as best as I could to cover the topics that I did not mention in my application. The next two questions he asked was what is my favorite subject, and what was my least favorite subject. In the future, for whoever out there considered applying for an interview, I advise you all to be prepared to support your answer as much as you could. And don’t be nervous or anxious at all. You are there to talk about the person who you know the most, which is only you. Just relax and keep talking, which is exactly what I did.

Anyways, I am super anxious to hear my admissions decision. I am well aware that UChicago transfer acceptance rate is pretty low, but I thought I should give it a try because it is my dream school. You will never know unless you try!

So, fingers crossed…
