Transfer essay word count

<p>Hi guys,</p>

<p>If I recall correctly, the Common App essay should not be longer than 1000 words on both the freshman and transfer application. However, I am wondering how many words should be used in the "why transfer here" essay. As of now, I am going by no more than 500 and no less than 250, but I am not sure whether that is too long or not. What do you think?</p>

<p>I wouldn’t focus on word count too much, I highly doubt admissions officers will count each word and decide its too long. Use as many words as you feel necessary without it being too long</p>

<p>(as a general rule, I always keep mine between 250 and 1000, I dont like to cap myself off at 500, it just seems too short sometimes)</p>
