Hi guys,

I was wondering how accommodating Rice and its students are to transfer students. Would it be hard to adjust? Make friends?

Hi guys,

I'm not a transfer, but some of my closest friends are. The great thing about being a transfer at Rice is that we really don't have much separation between the classes (because of the college system). So you're not too old to be friends with the freshmen, and it's not too late to become friends with the sophomores and juniors. Transfers go through O-Week just like freshmen (though the advisors try hard to be aware of the fact that they've been in college for a year already), so they get to know the freshmen really well. One guy at my college transferred in last year as a junior, and this year he's the VP of the college and president of Queers and Allies. So it's really easy to jump in.

I know this was long and rambly and incoherent, but I think I got in the main points.
