Is a transfer from CALS (Information Science) to CAS (for Computer Science) possible or likely given a 3.2 GPA at CALS? This is after 1st semester freshman year…
In your other thread, you said you recently applied RD. Why didn’t you just apply to CAS in the first place and save yourself the trouble?
@Coriander23 I did, I applied to CALS as my “alternate”.
@yikesyikesyikes yah prob. probably be looked down upon tho cause getting into cals is alot easier than cas
@thegrant Yeah, I heard that for NY state residents (CALS is a land grant college). I’m OOS though, does the same apply?
@yikesyikesyikes uhhhhhhhhh well taken from what I have seen from all of the ED and RD official results threads… I would say in general getting an acceptance letter from CALS is a lot easier than CAS (idk it just seems like more of the denied applicants from CAS were high stat applicants, whereas the pool of kids rejected from CALS seemed to have much less high scorers)
But then again… there have been many students who get admitted to both colleges with around 1900 SAT scores… Maybe all of this stuff I am saying doesnt really matter and that it is all about their specific fit to the Cornell atmosphere demonstrated by their essay and that it was just coincidence that CAS has more high scoring rejections…
(you prob did a good job applying to CALS and then transferring to CAS lol)
@thegrant What I did was apply to CAS (better fit for me) and put CALS as my secondary. We’ll see how it goes… Are you applying to Cornell as well?
@yikesyikesyikes yeeeeessssssssssssssssss but AAP (which pretty much nobody on CC every appiys to lol)
