hard to transfer and when?

I think I had chosen the wrong college when I applied for ED. Instead of CAS, I applied to CALS. Does anyone know say that if I get into Cornell, when can I start the process of transferring to another college and is it easy or require lots of hard work? I hope I can transfer before I become freshman....

well if all your essays are geared towards CAS, i dont know how well you would fare in the eyes of the CALS admissions committee

First of all, why do you think CALS is the wrong school? Did you just enter the wrong name or something, or are you having second thoughts about your chosen major?

You can start transferring after the first semester of freshman year I believe. The friend in the room next door is doing it.

Yeah, I am always a person torn beteen humanities and sciences, biology in particular. Sniff~ I didn't choose the wrong name accidently, instead, i thought i will be more interested in biology. However, as time moves on, I realize that actually my true interest lies in humanities, say philosophy and political sciences and such. And I hate taking chemistry first year ~~ Is there anyway to repair my blunder, thx ya all.

My son applied RD to CALS and emailed admissions and told them to please change his application to CAS. He refused to add to his app. with another essay even though the one he had submitted was why CALS over CAS. They sent him an email verifying the change. He was accepted last year to CAS.

Sax,then your son probably had really stellar stats and Cornell figured out that it is best to get him in instead of arguing over which college he should attend. And did he want to change it after he handed in the application?

His application had been complete for some time. After his admissions interview he decided he has applied to wrong college and just sent them the email asking for the app. to be reviewed for the other college instead. They said no problem. His stats were great however they never singled him out at anytime as one of their best applicants. He was accepted but chose not to go there.

Thx so much. Yeah, I only realized the mistake after the interview.
