Transfer from CC--The waiting game...

I applied as a transfer in December of last year and they just updated my status page to say they recieved my final high school transcipt (to prove foreign language requirement) and that they recieved my Community College transcript. It also shows my SAT score listed...even though I never sent them...?
I will be graduating this May with my AA, and wondering will they wait to see my final transcript or will they eventually review my application?
UF referred my application to the college I applied for, about 2 weeks after sending all my transcripts. I think I'll hear back within a few weeks. FSU isn't really telling me anything on the status page.
Just stressing out a little. :/

If you’re in state, your SAT scores are likely available at FACTS.org, which FSU has access to and can get your information from.

Since you don’t have your AA yet, FSU likely is considering you as a lower-level transfer student, meaning that you are required to meet both the transfer student requirements and the freshman applicant requirements.

What semester did you apply for?

I applied for Summer Term ('12).
I was going to wait until I received my AA, but was told I should just go ahead and apply. I’m kind of regretting that now.

It’s perfectly OK to apply before you have your AA, as long you are expected to graduate by the term that you applied for.

Your admissions page should list you as an “upper-division transfer.” If you are listed as a “junior level transfer” call them up and explain that you are an AA transfer. Also, I believe that your HS transcript contains your SAT scores (assuming you graduated within the last few years). That’s probably where they got them from.

Also, if you are an AA transfer, I don’t think your SAT really matters unless you need it to complete a CLAS requirement.

As an AA transfer, the freshman requirements like SAT don’t matter. But if FSU has him classified as a non-AA transfer, then that could be something to look into.

I would call and make sure that they have you transferring as an AA student.

What might be making it seem weird is that the summer session at FSU might start before you would get your AA.

I will have completed my AA by the first week of May. I pretty much have all my credits already, the only credits that will complete my AA are my IDS Connections course & Public Speaking which I’m currently taking.

It shows me as an Upper-Division transfer as well.

Oh I’m not a him…lol.

If it says “upper-division,” then I believe they are evaluating you as an AA transfer. So, you should be good as long as you have satisfied the pre-reqs for the major.

Yeah I know I’ve finished all my pre-req’s for my intended major so it’s all good.

Another thing. You know when you log into the Status Check think. It shows ‘personal information’ then ‘application information’ then ‘transcripts’ and then it shows ‘test scores’.

Will that same page tell me when they will start reviewing my application? It isn’t showing me any signs that they are even looking at it or if they have even referred it to the college I applied for.

I’m also going to be transferring with an AA. My application shows the same status as yours (I’m applying for summer). Only my scores, transcripts, etc. The thing I’m wondering about is when it will show that I am classified as in-state tuition (I’m oos but am considered a dependent of my FL resident father). Hopefully they will update this stuff soon! I like UF’s status updates more since you can tell where you are in the process.

In my case, there were fields entitled “Admission Decision” and “Admission Information.” After they received all of my paperwork, the status was “Your application is ready for review.” If they need something from you, it should mention this in one of those boxes.

For me, there were no updates until I received an email stating something like “A decision has been rendered.”

So you’ll see your application status change as soon as they get to you. I’m not sure how they work with the statuses of the applications, but you can assume that they are loaded with a lot of work to do, given how many people are transferring.

My best suggestion is check the page frequently as you can, you may not see an update right away but eventually you will!

From my experience boogiebop again it depends on when they start doing the residency status check on you. For me it was like two weeks before the semester started, I called them personally in like a week before the semester started and spoke with a supervisor. Who told me right away that she updated my status to in state residency.

Just depends when they start doing that. I don’t believe that it’s one person checking everything on your application, it goes through many hands so different departments check different things.

You’ll receive a flyer letter like in the mail upon your acceptance, after that it’s just about getting all the documents in on time and making sure everything falls into place before you start your semester.
Of course it’s up to you to make sure those things fall in place, so do check, make calls, and you’ll get results. : ) That’s what I did as a transfer student.

I think they just send emails now.

I have another question.
So as I’ve mentioned I’ve applied for Summer '12. Mostly bc I want to be able to adjust to the campus and also be able to get ahead &finish up my undergrad as soon as I can bc I wasted so much time at community college (long story). now I’m starting to question my decision and wondering if I should apply for fall.
I’ll be recieving my AA on the 4th of May so I’ll have completed my AA before either term starts.
Would a change make a difference? Any advise would be really helpful.

As long as your projected graduation date is before the semester starts you should be fine. If you are worried, just call Admissions and ask them what they think.

I’m waiting as well. I applied last summer for spring semester and was accepted. However, I had to withdraw from a major prereq (had personal problems) and told the school I wasn’t going to meet the prereqs in time for spring, so I didn’t go. Since then, I decided to do another major and already had the prereqs finished. So, I’m trying to transfer into the fall 2012 semester. I already have my AA and I applied not too long ago (end of January). If I was accepted before, would that be a good sign or should I be worried?

If you have your AA and you have fulfilled the prereqs for your major, then you shouldn’t have a problem, provided that your intended major isn’t limited access.
