I'm already an incoming freshman for the fall semester. I'm currently an English major and was thinking that I'd minor in TV production. I've heard some buzz about being able to transfer to a different major before the school year starts and I was wondering if this could apply to a transfer from English major to film/television production. I know that changing majors is generally easy but I've also heard that transferring to the SAC is different/more difficult. If there any way to make this happen, or is it nearly impossible?

Also, if I were to try to switch to that major after freshman year, how difficult would it be?

Hi I am also an incoming freshman who is interested in transferring to Animation in SCA.
You might want to contact the head of your major of interest at SCA and see with them the possibilities of an internal transfer.

Hope that helps =-)

Usually, students already attending USC who would like to transfer majors into SCA must submit the entire SCA supplement required for new applicants. There are a few openings each year, and you need to have 48 units completed (or in progress) before applying for the major. Here are the criteria, per the USC SCA website:

Application Deadlines

External Transfer Applicants: February 1 (Fall Only)
Current USC Transfer Students: September 1 (Spring), February 1 (Fall)
*Spring admission is only available to Current USC Students
*Current USC students must bring complete applications to the SCA Office of Student Services, SCB 105

Note to Transfer/Current USC students: Admission is granted on a space available basis. In order to be considered for admission, you must first obtain 48 transferable semester units (excluding AP & IB, but may include units in progress during the fall or spring semester).
