Transfer from private college--Course titles do not correspond

I went to an odd LAC for where the classes were integrated studies, and had titles like “Freshman Lab”. My registrar is willing to write UC a letter with course descriptions that will correspond to the UC prerequisites (English Com & Critical Thinking, “Math Concepts and Quantitative Reasoning”, etc), but she needs to have course numbers and titles from the UC school that would correspond. I am trying to find the classes at a UC that would complete these prereqs if I had been a freshman at UC. How can I find such a list with the course titles, numbers, and descriptions? I have tried calling the UC school, and I can get an appointment next month…Thanks in advance for any insight about “If I were NOT a transfer student, what UC classes would I be taking in order to transfer in?”

Try going to the specific UC website and search for the course catalog. The course catalog should have the course description along with the course number.

Use assist.org to find out which courses are required to transfer to the specific UC’s.

^^ what she said.

For example a search for “uc irvine freshman breadth” leads to this page http://catalogue.uci.edu/informationforadmittedstudents/requirementsforabachelorsdegree/ and then you can click on various areas to see what classes are listed.

The problem is that there is not an exact list of 9 classes or whatever that everyone takes. There are hundreds of classes that satisfy the xfer requirements, so you’ll need to spend some time looking at the offerings to see what matches what you have actually taken.
