Transfer from Tulane

I'm hoping to send out transfer applications to Columbia, Tufts, Cornell, and UVA.

The reason why I'm transferring is because of Tulane's lack of Middle Eastern Studies/Language program. This is what I will highlite during my "Why I'm transferring essays"

I will have a great recommendation from my Islamic Studies professor.

High School = 3.5 gpa 1340 SAT
College = 3.8 Courses = Genesis of Radical Islam (600level) History of Islam (400 level) International Relations, Symbolic Logic, and US History

I am apart of the Tulane World Affairs Forum and cadet in Army ROTC

What are my chances? Am I aiming too high? Any other suggestions of schools with a reputable International Relations/Middle East Focus?

Thank you for your time.

hey man, im considering transferring TO Tulane. COuld you give me some heads up on what its like there??? social life? profs? city? Honors Program (if youre in it)? Class size? STUDENT BODY??? etc??? is it generally a cool place??? im at mizzou right now, and its an awful cycle of eat sleep drink (which is fun, except theres also a lot of dumb people here)...
thanks

Columbia is great. But outside of that, Georgetown has an excellent program both in Arabic and Islamic Studies, and of course International Relations. I'd say from my extremely limited knowledge that those two are probably your best choices. Outside of that, NYU has a good program and Middlebury (if you want to go to a small LAC) might possibly have THE best Arabic program in America. UChicago is real good too. So to add to your list, there is:

Georgetown
UChicago
NYU
Middlebury
And add Emory in there too

Maybe this is a personal question, but why do you want to study Middle Eastern Studies and what do you plan to do after getting an undergrad. degree in it? Because that might help you better understand where you want to go. If you want to work in International Relations, Georgetown is the best, if you want to be proficient in Arabic go to Middlebury. But it looks like you've had a pretty good start now.

First, I hope to be in intelligencia while I serve my 4 years in active duty. But afterwards I hope to study radical/political islam more in depth in grad school then wherever the wind blows me. Arabic, although important, is not something I want to soley focus on.

I would like to make a correction, Middlebury does not have an undergraduate arabic program -- although they have a prestigious summer program.

What about my chances for transfer? Does my high school stats hurt me?

And about Tulane --
