Transfer from UC Irvine to UCLA in an Electrical Engineering major

I am a freshman in UCI major in EE. What should I do for transferring to UCLA or UCB? Like how many GPA I should maintain? Do I have to do internship? Thanks!

What should I do for transferring to UCLA or UCB

As an EE student, you should know about admission websites for transfer at UCLA and UCB. They will list their transfer requirements. They are very, very selective.

The engineering majors are impacted everywhere.

Priority admission goes to Freshman and then CC transfers.

My opinion: Your chances are really slim because you are already IN engineering at UCI. The admissions officers aren’t going to prioritize you because you are ALREADY in an engineering program at a UC. They just don’t have the space.
Also, your English written language skills appear to be weak here. Those skills need to show strength. Are you an international student?

Hi there!
Honestly, your chances would be better transferring to a California Community College first then applying after 1-2 years there because there is a priority for CCC students. As long as you stay proactive and stay around 3.7-4 gpa wise, your chances may be better and you save money along the way as I can imagine UCI is gonna cost more if you fully intend on getting out. Another thing you can do to boost your chances would be joining a CCC honors program where there’s more rigor and resources available to you in the process of transferring. It’s obviously not impossible to transfer from where you are now but fully do research and be intentional about the decision and your reasonings for switching. Also if possible, an internship or other extracurriculars look great if you want to get more involved but I don’t think it’ll be the end all be all of their decision, just keep doing what you enjoy. Hope this provided a little more insight on the process and your situation.
