Transfer from UCSB to UCI

Hello, I’m a current freshman at UCSB looking to transfer to UCI. UCI has a better aligned major for my future job interest and is a lot closer to my home than UCSB is. I’m trying to transfer into the Biological Sciences Department, looking to major in Exercise Sciences after. To my knowledge, the requirements are

Complete one year of general chemistry with laboratory with a C or better in each course
Complete one year of organic chemistry with laboratory with a C or better in each course
Complete one year of biology courses with laboratory equivalent to UCI’s BIO SCI 93 and 94 with a grade of C or better in each course
as well as
Complete seven UC transferable college courses with a grade of C or better in each course : two courses in English composition, one course in mathematical concepts and quantitative reasoning, and four courses in at least two of the following subject areas: arts and humanities, social and behavioral sciences, or physical and biological sciences.

I’m quite confused as to which of the UCSB classes would satisfy these requirements, specifically the 2 years of organic chemistry with lab and bio with lab. I’m currently taking Chem 1A + Chem 1AL, as well as Math 34A and Asian American History, so I’m assuming the 2 more quarters in Chem with Lab this year will satisfy my 1 year of general chem with lab, and my one math class this quarter will satisfy the 1 course in mathematical concepts and quant. reasoning.

Hope someone familiar with the UCI to UCSB course equivalents can help me out with courses to take. Very anxious and concerned freshman. Thank you so much.

There is only 1 General Chem series and 1 Organic Chem series at UCSB which would satisfy these requirements. For Biology, you would take the MCDB 1A AND 1B with corresponding labs. If you need another quarter of Biology than one of the EEB lower division courses would fulfill that requirement.

You could always email UCI to confirm your course choices.
