I have a question about transfer GPA. I plan on transferring to North Carolina State University after 2 more semesters in community college. I read on the NCSU website your GPA from your transfer school will not be calculated into your NCSU GPA. Will i still be able to calculate my community college GPA when i am asked what your overall gpa is on resumes?

Predicted Transfer GPA: 3.8
Predicted Engineering GPA @ NCSU: 3.0
Predicted Overall GPA= 3.4???

Or do i say my overall will be 3.0 since the major GPA will be my overall at NCSU?

My son did what you plan (for summer internship - he's still a student; will be a junior this year). When he applied for the internship, he put his "overall" GPA on his resume.

In Engineering, also, his GPA was about 3.6+ pre-transfer; 3.1 or 3.2 at his very tough transfer school. For a 3.4 overall.

In the case of his internship, no transcripts were requested. But had they been (or in the future when they are required for permanent jobs), he would just provide all transcripts to document the GPA.

The keys are simple really: always be honest; always present your best (but honest) self on your resume.
