How does the transfering of GPAs really work?

What do you mean?

If you transfer – your GPA at your current school matters only in that your grades determine what classes you get credit for. Then your GPA essentially gets dropped and you start out with a 4.0 just like a Freshman.

There are two exceptions: If you apply to grad school obviously you’re going to need to reveal your GPA from your original school by sending in a transcript. Also if an employer requests them.

how about my highschool gpa…how much does that weigh in if i want to transfer in my freshman year?
