"The GPA does not transfer." I am a senior in high school and I am planning to transfer from GMU, where I am going next year, so please post what this whole GPA not transfering thing is. Thanks.

the gpa you get at GMU will not be transferred to the new university. instead, your gpa will start over as if you were a freshman.

You will not lose your credit, nor your old GPA (I do not think). However, when you apply to graduate school, you must send a transcript from both your old college and current school so the cumulative GPA can be calculated.

Edit: It must be clarified that in the new school, your old GPA will not be factored in the calculations, but it will still exist.

they also will take both GPAs in consideration for graduating with honors, like magna cum laude etc. every school might be different, but I know at least most are like that. it's probably on each schools website, graduation info.
