transfer housing right next to campus?

i toured UCI recently at their UCI Celebration day but all of the housing offered to transfers was quite a ways away. but then i spoke with some people who said they lived right next to campus even though they were transfers.

any current transfer students who live in this said housing? how much is it? what is the community/place called? is it technically off-campus housing? i know you can’t share links on here but if you could just lead me in the right direction id be very appreciative!

ideally i would like to live on campus, where i don’t have to take a bus to get to class. most of the housing i saw was a bus ride away but i imagine it gets really crowded and gets slow… plus the idea that if i ever want to be on campus i have to take some sort of transportation just feels awful to me since i would like to be able to do a lot on campus without feeling like it’s a chore to get there every day.

I live far away from campus, so I can’t answer all of these.

Those people probably live at one of the several apartments around UTC (Berkeley & columbia court, harvard court). Unaffiliated with the school and available to anyone, but a very short distance away from campus.

The busing system is actually incredibly efficient; you can get anywhere pretty fast. All the UTC apartments are within walking distance though (many bike/skate/scooter, too).

@raaqar thank you so much! just an apartment/street name was all that i needed, so im really grateful for your response!!
