Hi, I am completely confused right now. I currently go to Chattahoochee Technical College which is a community college. I am planning on studying Computer Engineering but I would like to transfer to Southern Poly and then from there go to GA Tech. I feel like this would look better than Chatt Tech. Anyways, I have talked to a few people and they said that Southern Poly does not directly transfer to GA Tech. With that said, I just want things cleared up so I have a better vision of what I am looking at here.

Hi ParthDesai,

“I have talked to a few people and they said that Southern Poly does not directly transfer to GA Tech.”

Make sure the people you talked to are reliable. Southern Polytech doesn’t participate in RETP anymore since they started their own engineering programs. That doesn’t mean you can’t transfer to Georgia Tech, it just means you have to apply to transfer regularly.

For more information about RETP, do some google search about it. If you live in Georgia, RETP gives you a big advantage.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Tech doesnt look at what school you are transferring from, just your college academic history. One college is not going to look better than another in their eyes.
