Transfer Level

So I was wondering if I was considered a senior or junior level transfer for next year.

I completed 1 year at a 4-year university before I took a leave of absence and joined a community college. Just adding up every single unit I have completed (like the tag does) results in a total of 96 units by the end of spring 2011.

However, I spoke with a UCSB counselor who said that since I had repeated 2 courses in which I had earned below a "C" the number of units that would be used to calculate my GPA would be 88 by the end of spring 2011.

So what should I say my grade level is?

Many thanks.

Bump.

I submitted as a junior transfer since I felt like there’s no good reason why they should count units twice if they believe two courses are the same (taking one counts as repeating the other).

hey yo sherlock, may i ask you why you wouldnt put semester or quarter units? theres a difference.

but UCs dont accept senior transfers soooooooo…

If you’re transferring to a UC, then you’re a junior-level transfer. They don’t take any other kind!

When I looked at what selecting senior transfer did, only some of the UCs (UCLA, UCSD) weren’t available to me. Others, like UCB and UCSB, were available with my major (ChE) open.

And obviously I’m talking about semester units since the cusp between levels is 90 semester units (it even says so on the application).

But anyways I submitted as a junior transfer.

yeah just in case you missed it on the app I was asking…but it seems like you figured it out so G4U

hmmm i didnt realize cc was actually second grade…love getting my ****ing posts edited.

^ Someones pmsing today? Take it easy, the op merely asked a question.
Answer: No, you’re not a senior transfer. This question gets asked a lot around here; someone should sticky it.
