Transfer OOS from CC

I’ll be an entering junior spring 2019, I have to apply this summer to 4 year colleges. Here is some quick info:

GPA 3.2(currently, hoping to increase it)
Credits: I will have a total of 42 credits by the end of spring 2018 semester.

I live in NY so I’ll be a OOS. I’ve always wanted to go away for college, and leave NY. Going out of state would be a dream come true, especially in the south. What are my chances of getting in?

I’d say not too bad but it depends on how interesting you are (or at least how interesting you can make yourself look on paper) and how many current students will be in the program you’re transferring in for (ie how desperate is that program for students).

You’re also going to need to think of a good reason as to why you should get a spot instead of someone already in Georgia (obviously I wouldn’t phrase it that way but in your statement of purpose you will need to explain why you want UGA in particular and what you as a student can bring UGA.)

That being said, it’s a good move if you can make it. I also did half my undergrad in the northeast at a community college and then transferred to a southern school and the price difference is a life saver.

@Galyn what school did you go to? If you don’t mind me asking!
