I am currently in a 4 year institution and I want to transfer to a community college because 1) the college that I am currently in does not have the program that I want (Rad tech) but the community college does 2) I did terrible my first year that I'm considering dropping out. Should I transfer to a community college or drop out?

What, exactly, do you mean by “drop out”? Do you mean that you would never attend college anywhere ever again? Or do you just mean that you would leave that college and never go back?

If you have a clear career goal that is better served by studying at another college/university/community college/trade school, then it makes perfect sense to transfer into the other institution. If you aren’t certain about your career direction, it may make more sense to take a leave of absence from your current college and work for a year or so while you decide what you want to do with your life. A leave of absence usually is a better choice than withdrawing because it makes it easier to return if you decide that is what you want to do.
