In Australia, we finish school at a different time and I think I will just miss my chance at Regular Admissions. I was wondering. Because I would have done approximately half a year of Uni, could I apply to most universities as a normal applicant or would I have to apply for a transfer.

Generally speaking, if you have done any university level work after completing your secondary education you are considered a transfer. HOWEVER, considering the differences in calendars, it would be worth your while to ask this question of the admissions officers at each college/university that you consider applying to in the USA.

Since many Australians take a gap year, why don't you do that? Then you could apply to the US colleges/universities as a regular student.

Wishing you all the best.

Yeah, definitely contact the colleges you want to apply to.

I believe some other CC member from the Southern Hemisphere wrote once that most colleges would let her apply as a freshman but asked her to withdraw from the university in her home country as soon as she decided to enroll at an American college.
