Transfer OUT of the ivy league

<p>Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you have had any experiences with transferring from an ivy to a "lesser ranked" school, possibly a SUNY. I'm currently a student at an ivy and find myself feeling unhappy, and unable to succeed academically. I tried to stick it out this past year and a half, but with the close of my first semester of sophomore year, I'm not doing any better than I was before. I'm always homesick, and find myself unable to concentrate on my work. My GPA is suffering and really getting in the way of my dreams of attending medical school, and the tuition is becoming too much for my parents to handle. I don't want to see them struggling to pay for my schooling, but I know they wouldn't want to even hear me tell them that I want to transfer out of the ivy. I want to transfer so that I can raise my gpa and save money. Do I even stand a chance of being accepted anywhere else? And how have any of you found your experiences with transferring?</p>
