"Maintain Academic Performance
Maintain the grade point average and complete the courses and number of units you reported in your application and in any subsequent course updates. You must be in good standing at your last institution of attendance. Also, if you attended another UC campus in regular session prior to enrollment at UCLA, you must have been in good standing when you left that UC campus. Notify our office immediately of any withdrawals, incomplete grades, drop in academic performance [including any D and F grades], or other changes to your class schedule. [See Contacting UCLA section.]"

What does it exactly mean: "maintain the grade point average"? What if I get a B in one of my classes this Spring semester (I do not think I can get an A in this class) and my GPA drops to a 3.9 GPA (I had and reported on the application a 4.0 GPA)? Does it mean that I have a drop in academic performance and my admission to UCLA is subject to cancellation?

I have the exact same problem. I applied with a 4.0 and might get a B in a 4-unit class this semester. I emailed the transfer counselor at my cc, and he said that he has NEVER heard of a school requiring you to maintain a 4.0. I think you just can’t drop SIGNIFICANTLY. As in, 3.6 your last semester might be pushing it. If nothing else, try your hardest this semester, see what your GPA is at the end, and then contact UCLA to make sure everything is still okay.

Edit:
The counselor wrote back to me saying, “I am assuming passing your classes with grades of at least a C (NOT maintaining a 4.0). You may want to seek clarification from them this if really concerned, but I have NEVER heard of a school requiring that you maintain a 4.0 to get in.” Of course I’ve noticed that cc counselors don’t always give the best advice when they’re dealing with schools like UCLA and Cal since they don’t have much experience with students actually transferring there.

It’s poorly worded, but from what I’ve ascertained from previous threads(dealing with this exact issue), having a 3.00 with no grade below a “C” in your final term is all you need.

The question is 3.0 avg for spring term or over gpa? Must be overall because if they are ok with C grades during spring, than a 2.0 avg for spring should be sufficient dont you think?
