I am thinking of applying to highly selective schools as a transfer student (i will transfer in as a rising sophomore), including ivies. I had a rough start to high school but ended it exceptionally well. However, my SAT/ACT is completely average (29 composite, 33 superscore) and I know it will hurt me if I apply. My question is; should I retake the ACT/SAT if I know I can do better, try to explain it to the admissions teams, or just leave it alone? How much weight will they put on standardized test scores? Thank you! I don’t want one test to determine my future!
