I have applied to Temple University as a transfer student for the 2011 Fall semester. I currently am a student at Rutgers, with a 3.2 gpa, no extracurricular activities (I’ve had to work to help pay for school.)
Is there anything I can do to bolster my chances of being accepted? It’s really, really imperative that I get accepted.
Anything words of advise or guidance would be great!! The wait is killing me . . . .
Hello Citylife,
<pre><code> Sometime we do not consider events or activities we have been involved with as “Extracurricular”. Extracurricular also means; outside somebodys normal duties, not part of the normal duties of a job or profession.
Think of any activities that you may have done while in high school, and/or out of high school. How about any chruch events?
Most view "extracurricular" as; Additional, supplementary, optional, secondary, and complementary.
My advice is, sell yourself! View your college application as a job application. Even though you may not have all the qualifications they are looking for, you may have skills and traits that are benefiticial in your performance as a college student.
If you do not hear anything from the admissions dept or transfer dept in a two weeks, what can it hurt by emailing or calling both depts? Nothing. Let them know your just following through with your application for admissions, and inquiring to verifiy they have recieved it.. When you take the "extra" step to call or email, shows the person on the other end something about you- your eager !

Best of Luck to you !
Did they end up taking all your credits as a senior transfer? (Note: I recognize this thread is ~1 yr old) .
