Transfer question

Does USC place any emphasis on strength of schedule/school/classes when transferring? I got rejected last year for the cinema school even with what I thought was a really great portfolio and supplements but I had an awful GPA at around 3.2. I decided to attend another 4-year university with the intention of staying there all 4 years and potentially transferring if I still felt USC was the only place I wanted to be after a few months and have now realized that is the case indeed. Is the fact that I'm taking a dual major with a packed schedule of very difficult classes that dont necessarily fulfill USC's GE's going to weigh negatively against me compared to someone who chose to go to CC for a year who's GPA will reflect easier courses that will transfer over?

Thanks.

Hmm I wouldn’t think so, I think it may be more impressive that you are taking such difficult classes.

Besides USC will probably look at it as better for them because you will end up having to stay at USC for one extra year because you would be behind in GE which is more $ for USC.

I’m starting this spring and only four of my classes taken transferred to USC out of the 8 that I took during the one year stay at a 4 year college. they didn’t seem to mind, and yes I will be graduating a semester later than everyone else. Probably even one year later…

Hope this helps.
