[Transfer] Should I take my SAT I again for IVY?

Again, the issue is there is incredibly little money or transfers. What these schools do have is by and large given to freshmen who they then fund for 4 years. As an international, your best shot of big aid was as a freshmen applicant.

It’s not about your lacking, it’s about funds not being there for the whole category of intnl transfers. Very, very few will get any funds. Looking for a lot of funds is especially daunting. There is no shortage of Korean students at any of these schools. That makes it all the more unlikely they will use their limited funds to support a Korean student who needs a lot of money. it’s not about you!

What would it take? Having something highly unusual beyond a 4.0/2400. They can always find money for the next YoYo Ma or an impact athlete, but just another good intnl student is much tougher.

And in all honesty, a near perfect GPA from a CC is a dime a dozen as is
perfect SAT IIs. That would not get an American into the need blind
schools. For transfers, even Americans, they want much more.

I understand Waverly. Thank you for your helpful input… but again… I should still try eh? not like I have anything else to do. Would you say “Grinnell, Kalamazoo, Colgate, St. Olaf, Bates, Whitman, Smith, Mt. Holyoke, Bryn Mawr” give aid as well?

look at the admissions websites of "Grinnell, Kalamazoo, Colgate, St. Olaf, Bates, Whitman, Smith, Mt. Holyoke, Bryn Mawr and see what they say about aid for International transfer students- then make your decision based on the facts. Thats all we are trying to get you to realize- the fact that there is very little FA $$ for transfer students who are not US residents.

wow… I have just looked into their websites and they do provide need based, merit based aid for internationals. and they seem to be very decent univ. as well. Thank you so much. I think I will apply to them as well. KZOO and Grinnell both has very late deadline too. So I can work on them after I apply to all these more competitive univ.

Thank you so much.

Sincerely,
Kyle Lee

I like to see these successful CC thread where the student gets it and redirects!

Good job Waverly!

Also, Kylelee, check out Brandeis. It has a lot of Korean int’ls, but it does give out FA to transfers and int’ls. It is about on par with schools like Boston College and NYU

Oh my. Thank you so much!
I really appreciate you guys for introducing me to schools that I was not aware of.
