Transfer Student Housing- Click to respond

After students receive their acceptance letter this May 1, 2010, what exactly will their housing options be?
Do they have a wide range of choices to choose from?

Do you receive a notification May 1st? On the Admissions site it says they start notifying both freshmen and transfers March 1st. Oh well :P

As a transfer, you’re guaranteed on campus housing for your first year. You will only be able to choose basic room type/roommates and preferences; your location is completely random.

Yeah, May 1 is the day!
Common there has to be some more input guys! Im know im not the only one here with information

they’re planning to put a lot of the transfers in delta terrace next year. there might be more transfers in plazas, because it is quieter compared to res halls where freshman and sophomores will be

Seriously… therealist? Where did you hear that

@EastbayUCC

All the transfer students got emails about it. They’re making it exclusively (or mostly) transfers.

what is delta terrace? is it nice or not? i obvously haven’t done any research yet

and as for UCLA decision letters, we will hear from them before the end of April. Berkeley will post theirs on April 31st, and all the other UCs always post theirs a wk or two before.

isn’t it already mostly transfers? seems like its been that way for the past two years

If I understand correctly, according to:
http://www.fao.ucla.edu/Forms/pdfs/0910%20Housing%20Adjustment%20Form.pdf</a>
Financial aid will only pay for residence halls. Does this mean your financial aid cannot be used on plazas, even if you are willing to pay the extra amount above the limit?

all the transfers got a email about this?? I didnt!!

^ It’s just a form that I found on their site, not an email request.

Wow, whats the deal with >200 views and only 10 replies? Some people must be really scared to talk. Hopefully somebody will be able to clarify this.

hmm

I don’t recall that financial aid thing and I’m not sure if it is true. If you have any financial aid left over after tuition is covered, they mail you a check of the difference so you can just reimburse yourself.
