Housing Q!?

So I visited UCLA this past weekend (may have seen me, was sportin my cal hat ;)) and absolutely loved it. I'm a transfer student however (dunno if I'm in yet) but assuming I get in I'm almost certainly going to attend. I was wondering if anybody knows, or has been a transfer, and can discuss how housing is. Do transfer students generally get housing? Is it a ***** to adjust and meet people since everyone has already been there two years? Really lookin forward to finding out, I fell in love with the campus...

I was a transfer and living in Hitch. It was good two years ago when it was only transfers, however as far as I know they have Freshmen there now, so it might be harder. However I still reccommend at least trying the whole on-campus experince.

transfer students are guaranteed 1 year of housing.
Hitch is going to be all freshmen next year, so you probably won't be there. I know there was a big transfer community (allen, we know many of the same people)

I'm not sure if UCLA does this every year, but they placed SO many transfers at Canyon Point. I think my house is about 90% transfers. If they do that for you next year, you would have something in common with your dorm house. I don't think it's hard to adjust or meet people. Granted, I live with my friends who I have known since Elementary school (knew them since then, didnt goto same middle school, but went to the same high school), so adjusting was easy. I say it's not hard to meet people because theres a lot of places you can go or things you can do to go out and meet people. Me and my friend's just have not taken advantage of them. It really depends on how you are.

As linked by mike, you are given 1 year housing for sure.
