Thank you for reading this far, please rate my chances for the four schools that I listed.

Thank you very much.

For both UWs, you might increase your chances by being involved in more ECs (work, clubs, etc.) You have a decent GPA at this moment. Keep it up and you should be able to get into UW. I wouldn’t worry much about Wsu and Wwu - if you have a relatively high Gpa they will accept you without any problems. And also try your best to be on your way to getting an associates at the time of applying to UW. Your HS gpa doesn’t matter. One W shouldn’t play a big role at all (did you have a good excuse there?).

The W is there because at the time I was taking nutrition, I was also taking high school classes, a senior project and volunteering. It was an evening class and I didn’t manage my time well enough to pass the class.

Maybe you should add it to your personal statement and tell them what you have learned from it.

You have very impressive stats! I think you are well on your way to being accepted. I transfered to uw rom a CC this fall and had 1 withdraw as well. My grades and GPA were slightly lower. Good luck!

@SoundersFC5, may I ask what classes you have taken before applying to UW? I’m afraid since most of my classes are not very difficult, they will look down on my application.

You have very good GPA, i just wanted to point out that your grades decline when it comes to hard classes toward the end of your transcript. Get your personal statement in check then apply, you will get it.

I, myself went to a community college, however, i did bad on the first year with easy classes; my GPA was about 2.9 at that time. The ironic thing about my second year, i took hard classes like organic chem, high level bio, calc series and i aced every single one with a few A-. which only bring my GPA to about 3.6. I wrote my personal statement overnight, applied the next day. Now, im at the UW seattle!

Good Luck.

@7seng7 wow xD thank you, and yes I will expect my grades to go down about the average of what I estimated, hopefully not any lower. May I ask what was your GPA when you submit your application?

Try won’t look down on your application for taking “easy” classes. They’re all college level material. I took many social science classes. I only took one math class (Calc 1) and got a C+. Your grades will be fine. Just make sure to spend a couple of weeks on your essay. Write it, let it sit, revise it, let it sit, have someone else revise it, let it sit. Rinse and repeat!

@kevinsauer my GPA was 3.53 to be exact when i applied. In my personal statement, i wrote about my comeback in the second year and my experience as a calc, stat, organic chem tutor and a math teacher. I got in during 2012 summer quarter. My current GPA at the UW seattle is 3.9. good luck!
