Transfer student to UCLA

i think i have gone over units

If all the units are lower division from a CC then 70 semester/105 Quarter units will transfer and you will get subject credit for the rest. Only if you attend a 4 year university and have upper division units, do you have to worrry about the credit limit for any of the UC’s.

UCSD is the campus with the powerhouse CogSci department. Check out the various tracks within CogSci there, and all the things you can do with it. Even if UCLA is your first choice, having San Diego on your list makes sense for this major, especially if you’re interested in the computational side of the field. Your stats are solidly in the middle 50% of transfers admitted to CogSci there.

As far as your chances at UCLA, even your honors advisors, who know your CC’s track record with UCLA well and also know your qualifications well, are basically telling you that it could go either way. I don’t think anyone here can read the tea leaves any better than they can. Do the best you can on the application (which of course will benefit you at all the UC’s you apply to), cast a wide net, and consider carefully where you want to TAG to.
