Transfer to brown...chances?

Hey all,
I’m going to Hamilton this coming fall and just graduated around middle of the class from a top boarding school. My current stats are as follows:

SAT
CR: 740
M: 790
W: 720

SAT IIs
Lit: 730
Math 2c: 710
Latin: 660

APs
English Lit: 3
English Lang: 4
Spanish Lit: 3
Spanish Lang: 4
AB Calc: 5
Environmental Sci: 3
Latin: 4
BC Calc: 4/5 (don’t know yet)

Also, how good do fall grades have to be (GPA-wise)?

Thanks for any help,
Claymangs

Why are you thinking of transferring when you haven't even completed ANY of college yet? lol

you should aim for a 4.0 but I don't know how rigorous Hamilton is. I think you would be eligible with anything above a 3.6 though. If you're coming from a top boarding school those AP scores might hurt you.

Not much I can do about the AP scores now I suppose. Do they look at them for transfers? How hard do you think a 3.6+ would be to get? And I'm thinking of transferring because Brown has better academics while still having an open curriculum and a much better squash team.
Thanks,
Claymangs

If you went to a school like Exeter, SPS, etc. than the adjustment should be easy for you. You would be in much better shape with a 3.8+ so do everything possible to maintain high grades. Proving yourself in college will offset an average hs record, but since they only have one semester to look at, the grades should be high. I wouldn't worry too much about your AP scores, Brown doesn't ask for them for transfer admission. But I really can't say whether you should submit or not.
If you are good enough to be recruited than try and get in contact with Brown's coach. That will help a lot if he wants you.
