I'm an out of state freshman at UNC looking to transfer out:

High school GPA: ~3.5 with a rigorous curriculum (primarily APs) in an extremely competitive (top 5 in the nation) boarding school. Last year and a half GPA was ~3.7.

College GPA: ~3.7, but only taking 13 credit hours-- Arabic takes up most of my work time. Next semester I'll be taking 17 credit hours.

Scores: 790 SAT Math, 770 Verbal, 720 Writing, SAT IIs all 700+

Extracurriculars: Solid list of community service and newspaper stuff from high school, interned for U.S. Congress this past summer, here I play rugby (16+ hrs/week), as well as write for the conservative magazine and fund-raise for an Operation Smile type organization-- I travel to India for two weeks every year to assist in operating rooms with this organization.

What do you think my chances are to transfer to Brown, Columbia, Georgetown, Dartmouth, (or as a far reach) Stanford?

On a side note, last year I applied to Georgetown SFS and was extended waitlisted then rejected. I am, however, placed on some sort of "priority list for transfer."

In at Georgetown, but no guarantees at Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, and Stanford. It is worth a try, and don't sweat it if you're rejected from every school but Georgetown. There many, many students here who turned down those schools for the SFS, and for good reason.

Good luck:)

i believe dartmouth and georgetown take in the most transfers

Georgetown accepts very few for the SFS, but your little "priority gig" pretty much grants you a free spot. Dartmouth is also very difficult. You have a shot. Nothing more.

Georgetown-I think you can look forward to M Street next year, if that's what you want.
Dartmouth- maybe (good luck :) You certainly have a decent shot.
Columbia- Reach but doable
Brown & Stanford- Far, far reaches.
