*Note as this covers several schools, I wished to place it upon the Penn forum, JHU forum, and the Columbia forum so that champions for all schools might provide insight/their opinions. Thus, the link above will take you to the main thread on the transfer forum

If you are not very happy at JHU just transfer. But if you just had a rough freshman year don’t be too hasty. I absolutely despised my freshman year at Hopkins and was aching to leave because of a bad roommate situation which lead to an extremely large amount of drama. But my sophomore year I got paired with a group of guys that became my best friends and remained at JHU and enjoyed my time a lot more. If it’s the freshman blues give it a shot. But if JHU absolutely does not have the program you are looking for than transfer. Just remember transferring means you better well have fantastic grades. Even though you aren’t trying to transfer as a freshman I think they still request SAT and SAT II scores as well as your college gpa and sometimes even your high school gpa.

What are your dislikes with JHU? The two competitive city schools you mentioned may be similar in many ways.
