Just wondering if you spend a year or two at another University and want to transfer to Columbia University will you still be required to do Core @ Columbia.

I just read on Columbia’s site that you’re not required to complete all the Core Classes but you do have to take majority of the core classes.

This is something that’s been irking me for a long time too. In my case, were I to attend, I’d enter as a sophomore. Still, I can’t figure out is how I’d be able to do the whole core without taking 6 classes a semester. I’m willing to take on 5 classes a semester, but 6 would just kill me. Some of my classes, like art history, seem like they’d map onto some core courses really well, but I still don’t know whether I’d have to do them all. If someone can help out with how much of the Core transfers are expected to do, and whether transfers are allowed to get by with just 5 classes a semester, that would be awesome.
