transfer to cornell as a freshman, POSSIBLE?

I started college on spring 2009, so fall 2009 is my 2nd semester. I'm willing to transfer to cornell on spring 2010;however, I'm not sure if it is possible. I'm currently completing the last AEM courses required to transfer this current semester. Do you think that I'd be considered for transfer? I have a 4.00 , good essays and good recs.

PLEASE HELP! :(

Wow that’s crazy, I’m in almost the EXACT same situation - started spring 09’, currently in my second semester. I just applied for AEM spring 10’ with a 4.0, strong essays, and decent recs, and will have all AEM sophomore pre-reqs done by the time my school’s fall semester and winter session classes end. I’m sure it’s possible, this is taken directly from Cornell’s site:

*Wondering about what’s required to transfer to Cornell? This information is for you if:

You’ve already matriculated full-time at another institution and/or

You’ve graduated from high school and have earned 12 or more credits at another institution since graduation.
*

Good luck, I hope we both get in!

Man, now I feel confident to apply lol :stuck_out_tongue: i thought i was the only one in this situation! I really hope we both get in. Please, let me know what was the decision for you.

but … what about the Mid-term report? In the deadlines it says october 1st! and that is not even the middle of the term lol Do you know what we have to do?

no I don’t know how that works either haha, I just asked in the cornell spring 2010 thread in the transfer section

i just noticed it was you haha. has someone replied to that post yet?

Hey everyone,

I’m also applying to transfer to Cornell in the spring–to the hotel school actually. Can someone give me some advice as to how I should approach the interview? I’m having an off campus interview.

About the midterm report, I also find that a little confusing. My school does not issue official midterm marks so I’m lost as to when I should submit the report. I can get unofficial midterm marks from my instructors but at the earliest it’ll have to be sometime around late Sept-early Oct.

If anyone can help me out here, I’ll really appreciate it.

^–that’s the same for me, actually. But it was the same thing last semester too when I applied for fall entry.

What they do is they want your app, supplement, transcript from previous year/semester, recommendations, etc. (and for you I guess the interview) to be done right away, by the deadline (Oct. 1st)

But midterm grades, just go to your professors around the 2nd week of October or so and ask them to give you an estimate of how well you’re doing. There should be an official sheet to get signatures, the class name/credits, and your grade somewhere on the website or common app.

If you can’t find it, just wait until you have your interview and ask them afterward to give you the information you don’t have.
