Work Experience: Interned at a strategic management team of a hotel (back office) for 6 months /Server in the F&B for 1 year/Intern at a hotel magazine for 6 months/ Worked at a guest house for 1 year

Volunteering: Helped out exchange students at school for 1 year (Official school volunteering program)
/ Taught high school students as a mentor for 2 years/ Volunteered for a translating service at World Vision for 2 years

EC: took part in the Harvard College in Asia program/ Head Chair at the Model United Nations hosted by a university/ Student Ambassador of a local hotel for a year/ Student Ambassador in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/ Tour guide for foreigners in a club for 2 years

Letter of Recommendation: Professors at my school typically do not put much effort into writing recommendations so I guess the letter of recommendation in the academic section’s not gonna be that strong/special

You have a decent shot, but it’s a tough school to get into. One other option for hotel management is UNLV. This school is as highly ranked or higher than Cornell. Las Vegas is the hospitality capital of the United States.

The Hotel School is trying to become more of a business school. Because of that, a lot of people (like myself) who do not have a lot of hotel experience, but rather have hospitality experience are getting in. However, many of the transfer kids do tend to have hotel experience. So, I’m not sure
