Transfer to cuny school for spring semester

I'm a freshman at a SUNY school and I realize that I want to switch to an education major. I'm a bio major right now. However, my school doesn't offer it and I'm looking to transfer to CUNY Queens College since I know they are well known for their education major. The deadline for spring transfers is Sept 15 and I also need to get my high school to send in my transcript in a sealed envelope. I won't be able to get in my transcript sent in time since NYC high schools start on Sept 9. That's a problem for me since I called into CUNY today and they said that all documents must be received by the 15th. Please help. what should I do? & Also, I could change my major if I indicate it on the application, right? Thanks!

Are you certain CUNY said that things must be received by the 15th and not just postmarked?

Even though classes start on the 9th, teachers and administrators are often there earlier to get ready for the year, give them a call and see. If they will give you your transcript in a sealed envelope, you could then send it in a priority mail envelope and it should get to CUNY in 2-3 days.

I’d assume CUNY will evaluate your transfer for the major that you indicate, but don’t know that for sure. Call them to find out for sure.
