Transfer to Harvard 2011 Fall

Hey guys, I am currently a freshman in the Wharton School of Business at Penn and I have come to the realization that I no longer want to pursue business as an undergrad, definitely as a grad student, but not now. Of course, this changes everything, including the reason why I applied to Wharton in the first place. I want to focus mostly on econ and government, I want to have a wider, more global view of things rather than an extremely narrow, technical view, as the one we get through the business curriculum. With this in mind, I want to transfer to the best school I possibly can, especially in those two subjects I plan to major in. What are my chances of applying as a sophomore transfer to Harvard?

My Stats.

4.0 HS GPA (top 1%)
Probable 3.9 Freshman GPA

2200 SAT with 760 CR and 740 Math

IB score of 45 (max)

10 A* in my IGCSEs

President of Student Council in HS

President of MUN club

Attended 16 conferences, won 7 best delegate prizes

2 summers doing community service in northeastern Brazil

Speaks 3 Languages

Intl. Student (South America)

Great recommendation letters

Will be taking 10 c.u's by the time I apply. Taking Econ 010 (for business), Legal Studies 101, Management 100, Math 103 (intro to calc) and a writing seminar.

Organizing member of Penn's Model United Nations Conference (assistant secretary general)

Organized a charity benefit dinner for the purpose of raising money for a non profit that helps feed the homeless

Member of the Private Equity Club, Wharton latino and the Finance Club

Possibility of getting two good recommendation letters from professors who are Harvard Alumni

Thanks in advance to all those who answer!

Holy ****. If you don’t get in I don’t know who should.

You should probably take a harder math class.

EDIT: I can tell you that you would be basically a shoo-in for Cornell ILR and it sounds like your expanding interests would fit well there.

Garrett Marsilio, by any chance?

Your high school stats are obviously very impressive. What matters more now, though, is how you do this semester.
It’s fine if your two best recommenders went to Harvard, but don’t choose them based solely on that. Choose the professors who know you best and can write you really outstanding letters, regardless of where they went to school

well, normally i would say don’t bother but you’re one of those people who may actually have a shot. you need to write really solid essays for why you want to transfer. you have the stats (assuming you keep a sick GPA in college), so now you need to show them why else you belong there

damn it you are so lucky.i get 2300+ sat and full scale whatever language test.dozen of AP.i speak chinese, spanish, french and of course, english.but high school in china doesn;t have damn club nor organization.compare to me you lucky man.i might as well just stale in stupid rice.

Wow. If you don’t get in, I don’t know who would. Great job. Definitely apply.
