So I am currently attending community college as a freshmen in my second semester and have decided I want to transfer to PS Behrend for software engineering. I sent in my first semester transcript and my high school transcript to admissions, and after a few weeks they sent me a letter saying they would need my current semester grades to come to a decision.

What I am wondering is whether or not I can bank on being accepted. My high school GPA was ~3.0, and first semester GPA at college was only a 2.6, though I easily could have had above a 3.0 had I not missed a week of exams. My current semester GPA is likely to be around a 3.25-3.5.

I know the branch campuses of Penn State are much less selective than UP is, but as a transfer do I have good chances of being accepted? With admissions sending me the letter about needing my current semester grades, is that the usual or does that mean I'm sort of on the edge and they need more to look at for a definitive answer? Thanks a lot.
