Hello all, I will be attending a SUNY school in the fall where I finally decided I will be majoring in Chemical Engineering. The school was a safety, and I had gotten into Carnegie Mellon and Cooper Union, but did not attend for various reasons. Some things came up and I would be able to go to a different university (that is, other than the SUNY) after this year is up. Any suggestions to good schools for ChemE in the northeast? MIT would be an obvious one but thats a hiiigh reach.

REACHES:
Carnegie Mellon University
Columbia University
Cornell University
University of Pennsylvania

MATCHES:
Pennsylvania State University-University Park
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

SAFETIES:
University of Delaware

Rensselaer should be an obvious school to look at. It’s a lot more competitive than Penn State though.

What can you afford? Delaware has a great program.

What are your stats?

Are you looking to transfer as a soph?

What can you afford? Transfers often get lousy aid. If you got a decent aid offer this last spring, you won’t likely get that again.
