I’m currently an international student in a U.S. college and I find that it’s just not a good fit. I think I’ll finish the first semester with a gpa in the 3.7-4.0 range.
I’m thinking of applying to Canadian universities which are much more affordable than schools in the U.S.
However, I’m not sure how difficult it is. Specifically for schools like UBC, and maybe McGill (though I don’t know much about schools in Canada other than UBC.)
What are some differences? I’d be applying for a B.A. in economics or something related.
yes, sink or swim. There are academic support resources & tutors etc but you have to seek them out yourself. Generally imo less party atmosphere. Many students at Cdn uni live at home w. parents or rent apartments together off campus. Much less emphasis on greek life. I think generally a bit more serious, bigger age spread in courses, not as filled with 17 yo moving away from home for 1st time, kwim?
