I won’t lie, sharing a bathroom with people sucks. You get used to it, though. If you really can’t imagine yourself doing that definitely look into living in an apartment.
@mermaker I’m an anthro major. The academic transition wasn’t too bad. I was also used to working 40 hours a week, taking at least 15 units each semester, running for my school’s track and xc teams and interning though. A LOT more reading and papers that’s for sure. I also went from the semester to quarter system which was very intense.
I spend a decent amount of time studying; I don’t lock myself away from friends for hours a week to get my work done but I do get it done.

Dude, how is the party scene? girls? and the classes(more rigorous)??

Yeah how were they, especially in the transfer dorms?

party scene is okay. not like that of cal or ucla but we’re not socially dead either. most of the parties I’ve had fun at are off campus. They’re really strict about not having alcohol in the room if your roommate is under 21 (even if they’re not in the room). that’s the only thing that bugs me but luckily my ra is super lax about that.
Girls? I’m a girl but they’re okay I guess…everyone here is super chill and easy to get along with.
Classes are obviously more rigorous because you’re taking upper division ones. I spent a lot more time reading than I ever did in a cc. I also had a lot more papers to write.

So if me and my room mate are over 21, we can have alcohol in our dorm? Portor college

What is the average age for Transfers there…I’m 21 by the way?

Average age (at least on my floor) is 21.
If you and both (or all) your roommates are 21 then alcohol is fine. You do have to drink it with your door closed because the hallway is “public” area and alcohol can’t be displayed in an area where not everyone is 21. It’s pretty annoying. Once an RA stopped me because I was carrying a case of beer to my room and told me to cover it up next time.

Dang so since I will be 20 for most of my Junior year, basically my roommate/other 21+ people are going to hate me? damn.

not necessarily. you may get placed with people who are 19 even. or you may have a super chill ra. it’s also really easy to break the rules as long as you’re smart about it.

Haha oh okay, some hope then.

Sounds like a typical case of homesickness

Keep yourself busy and join a club

everyone goes through a transitory period (not just college admits—people moving for a job, moving to another country, etc), and you have to give it more time before deciding that it’s not the right place.

just tough it out and force yourself to get involved and meet people. UC schools are huge, so you’ll definitely find people of your ilk given enough effort.
