I am going to be a freshman at UCSD this fall and I wanted to know if it's possible to transfer to USC after my first year. I know it's technically possible if I meet all the requirements and take all the transferable courses, but what are actually my chances if I get a 3.7+?

I think you will have a good chance. It kinda depends on your major. But usually you'll be fine if u get a 3.7 from UCSD. But why u want to do so? Is USC really better than UCSD?

naderboy2002: It really depends on what school you apply to. I applied as a USC Marshall school of business transfer and was accepted with a 3.62. However, I applied as a junior and I believe it's a bit harder to get in as a sophomore.

However, I'm pretty sure they look at the fact that you're transferring from another 4-year university rather than a community college and factor that into your gpa...If you need any help feel free to pm me.

gogogobears: It depends what you're comparing USC to UCSD. For example, I personally think UCSD is better for pretty much any major with the word "biology" in it but when it comes to business, USC blows UCSD out of the water (mainly because UCSD doesn't have a business school and USC Marshall is nationally ranked)

sittingmoose,
I'll apply for Marshall too. Marshall is solid for its Accounting and Business and UCSD has a solid Econ department.

SittingMoose.
I know you already graduated, but which courses did you take in UCSD and what college were you in?
