Possible USC Transfer?

I'm going to be a 2nd year at UCSD and want to transfer out. My biggest concern though is my GPA. Currently my cumulative GPA is a 3.02, which I know, is terrible, especially since I want to transfer out. My first two quarters were 2.7 and 2.8 and my third quarter was a 3.5.

As far as extracurriculars, I have exec positions on two orgs, both of which are pre-professional related and this summer I'm working as a consulting intern at an international company.

If I get at least a 3.7 gpa in the fall quarter, (i'm being realistic, it's going to be near impossible to get a 4.0), write a fantastic essay and explain why my grades weren't the best, do I have a shot at getting into USC or other comparable schools?

First of all, whats your major? If you are looking to get into Marshall, then it may be hard. But 2.7, 2.8 3.5 is a good trend. Keep up the good work, concentrate on just getting A’s if possible. UCSD is a tough school, some kid transferred from their actually and his GPA was 3.0-3.3 something like that… He was in the USC Transfer Thread 2011 if you wanna read…

Good luck with the admissions process. Its a long one, but apply!
