I am thinking about transferring to USF as a business marketing major. I am currently a freshman at a private university in LA-Area. Does USF take most credits or is it difficult to transfer credits? Does the school have a good business program? The school I am currently at has good internships at major companies (LA is right there), does USF have good ones as well since it is near Silicon Valley/a major city? Overall, is USF a good school and is it worth it to transfer there?
USF will usually give transfer credit to courses which would transfer to the UC/CSU systems. If you are taking typical freshman year courses at an accredited school my guess is you’ll be okay. The bigger question may be whether they transfer as general electives or specific core/major requirements.
I can’t speak to the business program, but USF is very focused on internships. The head of the career/internship center is an exceptionally dynamic and pro-active guy.
As to whether it’s a “good” school and if you would find it worthwhile to transfer there, yes it’s a good school but what matters is whether it’s a good fit for you and your goals. I’d suggest connecting with faculty and staff at USF if you haven’t already done so.
